Abstract The overall aim of this thesis was to explore possible associations between information and communication technology (ICT) use and mental health symptoms among young adults. By “ICT” in this context is meant mainly computer and mobile phone use. The thesis contains three longitudinal cohort studies using self-report questionnaires and one qualitative interview study.

News alert: brain cancer is on the rise, and one of the culprits may just be your mobile phone. A Swedish study, recently reported about in the January Prevention Magazine article "Electro Shocker," found if you started using a cell phone in your teens, you have a five times greater risk of brain cancer than had you waited until becoming an adult.

The Lancet Oncology today publishes a summary from a meeting of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), that classifies radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) (including those caused by mobile phones) as possibly carcinogenic to humans (division 2B in the IARC classification).
